Bard College

Bard College's Spiegeltent is a magical venue that hosts a variety of performances, including cabaret, live music, and more. The Spiegeltent is a large, mirrored tent that is located on the Bard College campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Best of all it’s just a 5 minute drive from the Motel.

The 2024 Spiegeltent Calendar runs from June-August and tickets are available as of April 2024. The Spiegeltent is a great place to see a show, have a drink, and dance the night away.

The 2024 Bard Summerscape festival runs from June 20th thru August 18th and will feature a wide range of performances, including Ulysses - Elevator Repair Service. You can find a complete list of performances at the Fisher Center Box Office.

Bard Summerscape is a great opportunity to experience the best of the performing arts in a beautiful setting.

Fall

The Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival is an annual event held at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, New York. The festival is a celebration of all things sheep and wool, and it features a wide variety of activities and events for people of all ages.

Take a scenic train ride through the Hudson Valley to enjoy the fall foliage in all its glory. The Metro-North Hudson Line offers stunning views of the changing colors, especially between Poughkeepsie and Cold Spring.

Winter

Winter Songfest: The Bard College Conservatory of Music often organizes the Winter Songfest, a concert that features performances by students, faculty, and guest artists. This festive event showcases a repertoire of seasonal music, including holiday classics and winter-themed compositions.

The Sinterklaas Festival takes place in the village of Rhinebeck. This Dutch-inspired celebration features a parade with giant puppets, music, dance, and various performances. It culminates with the arrival of Sinterklaas and a festive community gathering.

Snowshoeing and Winter Hikes: Dutchess County has several parks and trails that are ideal for winter activities like snowshoeing and winter hiking. Locations such as Fahnestock State Park, James Baird State Park, and Dutchess Rail Trail offer opportunities to explore the winter landscape and enjoy outdoor recreation.

Spring

With the arrival of spring, Dutchess County's parks and trails come alive. Visitors can engage in activities like hiking, biking, birdwatching, and enjoying the blooming flora and fauna at locations such as Lake Taghkanic, Minnewaska State Park, James Baird State Park, and the Dutchess Rail Trail.

Maple Sugaring Demonstrations: During the spring season, many farms in Dutchess County offer maple sugaring demonstrations. Visitors can learn about the process of tapping maple trees, collecting sap, and making maple syrup while enjoying samples of fresh maple products.
