We can’t wait for you to explore this special piece of the Hudson Valley

You’re in luck! Red Hook and the greater Hudson Valley are spectacular all year round. But the activities are certainly different depending on the season you stay with us. So here are a few of our favorite things.

Spring

  • Check those buds out by taking a stroll through Poet’s Walk or along the Hudson. Clermont Manor offers a beautiful vista

  • Feeling adventurous? Try foraging with the help of a handy foraging guide. You’ll know it’s ramps season because everyone is talking about it

  • If you’re hankering for a hot breakfast or searching for a delicious grilled cheese + Soup on a colder spring day, put the Elizaville Diner or Corner Counter on your list.

Summer

  • There’s no better summer sunset than over a beer at Lasting Joy Brewery, less than 10 minutes away

  • Speaking of breweries, also nearby you’ll find From the Ground Brewery, Suarez Brewery, Slow Fox Farm, and Black Snake Brewing

  • You can’t avoid fresh fruit and vegetables in the summer. Farmer’s market stands pop up all along route 9, but check out Montgomery Place Orchard and Migliorelli’s in Red Hook, and Hearty Roots in Germantown

Fall

  • You can’t make an autumnal visit without picking some apples. Visit Greig Farm, which is just 5 minutes away, and get ready to make an epic apple crumble. But before you bake, stock up on their famous apple cider donuts

  • More apples can be picked — and cider can be drunk — at Rose Hill Ferments, which is also just a few minutes away

  • If you’re looking for something a bit harder than cider, Hudson Valley Distillers in Clermont offers an easy atmosphere with fun cocktails

Winter

  • Get in some holiday shopping at some delightfully curated shops: The Crow’s Nest, Tivoli Mercantile, and House SFW

  • Hot ramen hits different when it’s snowy. Yum-Yums in Red Hook does toe-warming noodles and soups

  • If you know someone with a maple tree tapping set-up, offer a hand and see if you can be rewarded with some maple syrup come Spring!

  • Across the river in Kingston, there is great vintage shopping to explore. Our favorites include Kingston Consignment, Capital Vintage, and Lovefield Vintage.
